Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until it's fluffy and light in color.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to your wet ingredients, blending until everything is well combined.
- Divide the dough into separate bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl. Mix until the colors are evenly distributed.
- With your hands, roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Then, roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
Baking
- Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can be frozen for up to three months. Ensure cookies are fully cooled before freezing. To restore softness, microwave for a few seconds.
