Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Coating and Coloring
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 bottle Food coloring (various colors)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until it's fluffy and light in color.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to your wet ingredients, blending until everything is well combined.
  5. Divide the dough into separate bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl. Mix until the colors are evenly distributed.
  6. With your hands, roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Then, roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
Baking
  1. Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can be frozen for up to three months. Ensure cookies are fully cooled before freezing. To restore softness, microwave for a few seconds.
