Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
Add-ins
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Reserve a few for topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for your brownies.
  2. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and eggs until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  2. In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  4. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips, reserving a few for sprinkling on top.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the reserved white chocolate chips on top.
  2. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For a Halal-friendly version, consider using olive oil or coconut oil instead of butter. Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave for a few seconds before serving.
