Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a medium-sized baking dish with butter.
- Begin layering your thinly sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
Cooking
- In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture evenly over the layered potatoes.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 40 minutes. Remove the foil halfway through to allow the cheese to melt and turn golden.
- Check the potatoes with a fork; they should be tender and creamy after about an hour of baking.
Serving
- Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh herbs. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
If you have leftovers, allow them to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Refrigerate for about 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F until warm throughout.
