Preparation
- Start by measuring out all your ingredients. This will make the process smoother and more organized.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of creamy peanut butter with 1/4 cup of softened butter. Use an electric mixer on medium speed until it forms a smooth mixture (about 2 minutes).
- Gradually sift in 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder. Mix until well combined and fully incorporated into the peanut butter and butter mixture.
- Slowly add 1 cup of powdered sugar to the bowl. Mix on low speed initially to avoid a cloud of sugar before turning it up to medium speed until no lumps remain.
- Slowly add 1/4 cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Continue mixing until the frosting achieves a smooth, spreadable consistency.
- If it appears too stiff, add a splash of milk until the desired texture is reached.
- Taste your frosting! If you prefer a sweeter flavor, you can add a bit more powdered sugar.
- Use the frosting immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or enjoy it as a dip for fresh fruit.
