Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate chips The richer, the better!
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows Fluffy marshmallow goodness.
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans) Add a varied crunch.
  • 2 cups rice cereal For a beautiful crispy texture.
  • 1/2 cup butter The glue that holds it all together.
  • 1/2 cup sugar To sweeten up those flavors!

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by greasing a 9×13 inch baking dish with a bit of butter or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, stir in the sugar until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the chocolate chips to the melted butter and sugar, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat, and gently fold in the rice cereal, mini marshmallows, and mixed nuts until everything is well combined and coated in the chocolate mixture.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, pressing it evenly into the pan. Allow it to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour until set.
  6. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Nut substitutions can be made with your favorite nuts or seeds like pumpkin seeds for a nut-free version. Timing is key; make sure your mixture cools adequately to avoid falling apart. A sprinkle of sea salt on top before cooling can elevate the flavor profile.
