Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it nice and warm for the baking magic.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Pour in the melted butter and stir until well combined.
- Next, add in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the baking soda, salt, and flour. Slowly fold the dry mixture into the banana mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy release.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days. For longer storage, freeze in slices for up to three months. To reheat, thaw overnight or microwave for about 15 seconds.
