Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 loaf loaf of bread (preferably artisan or a soft white bread)
Cheese Mixture
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) Feel free to mix cheeses like gouda or provolone.
Flavor Enhancers
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Can adjust based on preference.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (like parsley or basil)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This is essential for achieving that perfect, golden crust!
  2. Take your loaf of bread and, using a serrated knife, make cuts diagonally down and across. Be careful not to slice all the way through; you want the base to hold together.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and fresh herbs. This flavorful concoction is the key to infusing your bread with deliciousness!
  4. Gently pry apart the slices of bread and use a spoon to drizzle the butter mixture in between each pull-apart section. Ensure each slice gets a generous amount.
  5. Stuff the shredded cheese into the gaps between the bread slices. Don’t be shy—pack it in there!
  6. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper over the top for extra flavor.
  7. Wrap the prepared bread in aluminum foil (optional for a softer crust) and place it in the oven.
  8. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is warm.
  9. Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then pull apart and enjoy with your family!

Notes

For best results, use a soft loaf that tears easily. Keep an eye on the baking process, and store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for a month. To reheat, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and warm for 10-15 minutes.
