Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice) Other cheese types like Gruyere, feta, or pepper jack can add unique flavors.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Fold in the shredded cheese to ensure it is evenly distributed in the dough.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until thoroughly mixed.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay!
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Freeze slices individually in plastic wrap followed by foil for up to 2 months. Reheat slices in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-12 minutes for best results.
