  • 1 tablespoon sugar Adjust to your sweet preference.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice For a tangy twist.
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch Helps thicken the filling.
  • pinch salt To elevate the flavor.
Crust and Topping
  • 1 pre-made pie crust Store-bought saves time!
  • 1 egg Egg wash For achieving that golden color.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Optional, for extra richness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Stir gently to ensure the blueberries are well coated. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pre-made pie crust to about 12 inches in diameter.
Assembly
  1. Transfer the rolled-out crust onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon the blueberry mixture into the center, leaving about a 2-inch border.
  2. Carefully fold the edges of the crust over the blueberries, pleating it as you go.
  3. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it lightly on the crust.
Baking
  1. Bake the galette in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden and the blueberries are bubbly.
  2. Let the galette cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can customize the galette by adding whipped cream or yogurt on the side. To store, cover loosely and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
