  • 2 large 2 large onions, sliced Cut into thin, even slices for best caramelization.
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing.

  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • as needed Fresh parsley for garnish Optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing your beef and onions. Try to cut the onions into thin, even slices to help them caramelize nicely.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions to the skillet. Season with a pinch of salt and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they turn golden brown and caramelized.
  3. Push the onions to one side of the skillet, and add the sliced beef in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Allow the beef to cook for about 3-4 minutes before flipping to cook the other side until browned.
  4. Stir the beef and onions together in the skillet for an additional minute so all the flavors can combine beautifully.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For variations, you can substitute beef for chicken or lamb. Ensure not to overcrowd the pan while cooking the meat. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
