Preparation
- If your brisket isn't already sliced, slice it thinly, ensuring it’s tender and juicy. Toss it in a bowl with the BBQ sauce to coat evenly.
Assembly
- Take a hoagie roll and layer a generous portion of the BBQ brisket mixture. Top with a handful of cheese. Feel free to add pickles and onions if you desire!
Cooking
- Spread one tablespoon of butter on the outside of each sandwich to get that golden, crispy texture as they cook.
- Place a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the sandwiches, cooking in batches if necessary.
- Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes, pressing down slightly with a spatula, until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
Serving
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice them in half, and watch as cheesy goodness spills out. Serve warm with your favorite sides!
Notes
For best results, enjoy these BBQ Brisket Melts fresh. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze assembled but un-toasted sandwiches for up to a month.
