Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Asparagus or Green Beans, washed and trimmed Use asparagus cut into 1-2 inch pieces if using
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce (Halal-certified brand)
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (to sprinkle on top)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil or vegetable oil (for sautéing)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing and trimming the asparagus or green beans. If using asparagus, cut it into 1-2 inch pieces.
Cooking
  1. In a large sauté pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Once the oil is shimmering, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the asparagus or green beans to the pan. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  4. Pour the soy sauce and sesame oil over the veggies, tossing to coat them evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve warm.

Notes

For substitutions, try adding sliced bell peppers, snap peas, or broccoli. Avoid overcrowding the pan when sautéing.
