Ingredients
  

For the Blueberry Filling
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries Wash thoroughly. If using frozen, thaw and drain excess moisture.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted) Make sure it's melted but not too hot.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash the blueberries thoroughly. If using frozen blueberries, let them thaw and drain excess moisture. Place the blueberries in an 8x8 inch baking dish.
Making the Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  2. Gradually pour in the melted butter, stirring until the mixture becomes crumbly.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the blueberries in the baking dish.
  2. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the blueberries are bubbling.
  3. Allow the crisp to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with Halal-friendly vanilla ice cream for extra delight. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
