Preparation
- Set up a breading station with flour in one bowl, beaten egg in another, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl. Season the breadcrumbs with salt and pepper.
- Coat a mozzarella stick in flour, shaking off excess. Dip it into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off.
- Roll the mozzarella stick in the seasoned breadcrumbs until fully coated.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and spray the basket lightly with olive oil spray.
- Place the coated mozzarella sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer and spray the tops lightly with olive oil.
- Cook for about 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool for a minute before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
You can substitute low-fat mozzarella for a lighter option or vegan cheese for a dairy-free version. Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer for the best results. To prevent cheese leakage, freeze the mozzarella sticks for 30 minutes before cooking.
