Ingredients
  

For the Mozzarella
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (cut into sticks)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (try Panko for extra crunch!)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • Olive oil spray (for a touch of crispiness)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Set up a breading station with flour in one bowl, beaten egg in another, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl. Season the breadcrumbs with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat a mozzarella stick in flour, shaking off excess. Dip it into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off.
  3. Roll the mozzarella stick in the seasoned breadcrumbs until fully coated.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and spray the basket lightly with olive oil spray.
  2. Place the coated mozzarella sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer and spray the tops lightly with olive oil.
  3. Cook for about 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown.
  4. Remove from the air fryer and let cool for a minute before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

You can substitute low-fat mozzarella for a lighter option or vegan cheese for a dairy-free version. Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer for the best results. To prevent cheese leakage, freeze the mozzarella sticks for 30 minutes before cooking.
