Method
Preparation
- Wash the peaches thoroughly. Slice them in half to remove the pits, then chop them into smaller pieces.
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Blending
- In a blender, combine the chopped peaches, cooled simple syrup, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Adjust sweetness if needed.
Freezing
- Pour the peach mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer. Stir the mixture with a fork after 1 hour to break up ice crystals. Repeat every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours, or until firm but scoopable.
Serving
- Once the sorbet reaches the desired texture, scoop into bowls and enjoy!
Notes
For substitutions, if peaches are out of season, use other ripe fruits like mangos or strawberries, adjusting sugar as needed. To keep sorbet fresh, store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2-3 weeks.
