Preparation
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the heavy cream just until it starts to simmer. Do not let it boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir gently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Transfer the chocolate mixture to a bowl and let it cool at room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for about 1 hour, or until the mixture is firm enough to shape.
- Once the mixture is set, scoop out small portions with a melon baller or your hands and roll them into balls, aiming for about 1 inch in diameter.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or crushed nuts until fully coated.
- Your truffles are now ready to enjoy! If not eating them immediately, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
Choose high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor. Consider adding vanilla extract or a pinch of sea salt to enhance flavor. Alternatively, roll the truffles in crushed pistachios or colorful sprinkles for a fun twist.
